Shirley M. Stukel, 98 of Winchester, Va, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Shirley was born on April 24,1927 in Calumet, MI, the daughter of the late Wallace and Helen Lewis.

She married James Stukel on June 19, 1948, in Calumet, MI. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2017.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Mary Elizabeth Doughtery (Michael), Patricia Joan Rassi (Gregory), Sarah Ann Kish (the late Dennis); grandchildren, Erin Doughtery, James Rassi, Elizabeth Sutton (Jeremy), Megan Kish, Patrick Kish and Emily Kish; great-grandchild, Colton Sutton and sister, Joan Hodges.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is preceded in death by her son, James Lewis Stukel; granddaughter, Megan Doughtery; sisters, Barbara Maronek, Dolores Bolsenga and brother, Wallace Lewis.

Shirley was involved in many service activities throughout her life. She also was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Friends are invited to celebrate Shirley’s life at a visitation on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Her grandchildren, Erin Doughtery, James Rassi, Elizabeth Sutton, Megan Kish, Patrick Kish, and Emily Kish, will serve as pallbearers.
