Shirley Ann (Edmonds) Purtlebaugh, 83 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Spring Arbor in Winchester.

Shirley was born in 1942 in Rochester, PA, the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys Edmonds. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1960. She retired as the bookkeeper for VA Pride Fruit Packers. Shirley attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Winchester Moose Lodge and a former FFA Alumni Member.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Spielman (Ryan) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Tyler James McDonald, Lani Beth Spielman, Joseph Bailey Spielman, Walter Lee Artrip and William Artrip and her sister, Patricia Ann Riggleman of Winchester, VA.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her brother, Charles “Tinker” Edmonds and her special companion Sterling Shockley.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2024 at 2pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a reception to follow.
