Shirley Ann (Ritter) Harlow, 78, Winchester, Virginia, passed away Saturday, October 30 at her home.
Mrs. Harlow was born in 1943 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Elizabeth B. Ritter and George N. Ritter. She attended James Wood High School. Mrs. Harlow retired after 44 years at Crown Cork and Seal as a Transportation Manager. After retirement, she worked with her husband as an office manager. Mrs. Harlow attended Macedonia United Methodist Church in Stephens City, Virginia and she was a member of the Winchester Moose Lodge (Women of the Moose). She always liked to have fun and follow the rules. She enjoyed spending time with friends, loved playing cards and loved to dance. Mrs. Harlow enjoyed camping and doing things outdoors. Her best companion is her sidekick, Bridgett. She was loving towards her grandkids and great-grandkids and was always willing to help people and put others first. Mrs. Harlow had a “look” that told you she wasn’t happy. She was the inspector of everyone’s work. She was the sunshine of her family’s lives.
Mrs. Harlow married Delano “Bud” Harlow on February 24, 1962 in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband are her daughter, Lisa Rybolt (Edward Wright) of Clearbrook, Virginia; her son, Curtis Harlow (Dana Shook) of Winchester, Virginia; three grandchildren: Chad Harlow, Heather Harlow, and Brooke Harlow; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Peggy Howell of Augusta, West Virginia and Patricia Lockhart of Stephens City, Virginia; and six brothers: Floyd Ritter of Winchester, Virginia, Steve Ritter of Winchester, Virginia, Greg Ritter of Winchester, Virginia, Frank Ritter of Reliance, Virginia, Boyden Ritter of White Post, Virginia, Nelson Ritter of Winchester, Virginia.
Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Miller and her granddaughter, Ashley Harlow.
A service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with entombment to follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
