Sandra Kay McFarland, 65, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Winchester Medical Center.
Sandra was born in Paw Paw, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Leo Oliver and Ruth Virginia Leach. She worked at Family Dollar as a cashier. She loved to take care of her flowers and working in the yard. She was a great cook who loved staying home with her family and her dogs. She liked to go to the beach and loved the sun and the ocean, particularly at the Outer Banks and Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, Ocean City, MD, and Lake Anna, Virginia.
Mrs. McFarland was married to Garland Joseph “Joe” McFarland in Hagerstown, Maryland, on April 5, 1965.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Tammy Hawbaker and her husband, Michael, of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Terry Newlin and her husband, Jeff of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Jeffery David Newlin, II of Winchester, Virginia, Charles “Chaz” Joseph Buchinsky, IV of Bentonville, Virginia, Juliana Kay Buchinsky, and Christian Michael Hawbaker, both of Hedgesville, West Virginia. She is also survived by two sisters, Theresa Kump and Lisa Leach of Winchester, Virginia and one brother, Roger Leach and his wife, Glenda of Stephens City, Virginia.
