Sandra Helen Vencill, 74, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Ms. Vencill was born in 1942 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Ross W. and Eva V. Michael. She was a seamstress at Midwesco Filter Resources retiring after 19 years of service. Her greatest passion was spending time with and taking care of her family and friends. If you visited her home you never left hungry, she made sure of that. Sandy loved to dance, watch hummingbirds, crochet, watch wrestling and loved Roman Reigns (wrestler), and she was a member of the Eagles.
Surviving is a daughter, Tammy Fincham (Tommy) of Winchester, Virginia; sons, John Wright (Kimberly) of Stephens City, Virginia, Ross Wright (Teresa) of Stephens City, Virginia, Christopher Wright (Shawna) of Cary, North Carolina, and Johnnie “Vence” Vencill of Strasburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Mariah, Travis, Ian, Taylor, Brooke, Josh, Noah, Chelsea Sowder (John), Joshua (Stephanie), and Joey; great grandchildren, Rilyn, Kennedy, Evie and Evelyn; as well as many loving friends and her beloved cat, Ace.
Sandy was preceded in death by husband, Jack Vencill; a sister, Lucille K. Baker and brother, Ronald N. Coffman.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Evangelist Charles Doughty officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia. A time of continued fellowship and food will follow the graveside service at Omps Funeral Home South Chapel Reception Center.
