Sandra E. Thompson, 67, of Cross Junction, Virginia, died, Sunday, March 29, 2015, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Miss Thompson was born in 1948, in Schenectady, New York, the daughter of the late Claude A. Thompson and Alma E. Thompson. She was previously employed as a retail salesperson and as a hairdresser. She enjoyed crocheting and had her own little business where she crocheted hats, having stands at the Marker-Miller Orchard as well as the Curiosity Shop in Winchester. She also assisted with the food service, funnel cakes and lemonade stands at Jiffy Lube Live. The “Hat Lady” had numerous displays at local fairs, church bazaars, fall festivals, craft shows, the Apple Blossom Festival and donated her time to Habitat of Humanity. Miss Thompson was a member of Winchester Church of God.
Miss Thompson is survived by her sister, Patricia A. “Pat” Foster, and husband, Sheridan Lee, as well as her two brothers, Alan Claude Thompson and Michael Scott Thompson and wife, Phyllis. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, especially Robert Oakley, Karen Hodgson, Scott Foster, Stacy Sanders, Scott Thompson, Andy Thompson and Todd Thompson, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at her sister Pat’s house on Saturday April 11, 2015, beginning at 1:00 PM. Please RSVP with Pat at pafoster@comcast.net.
