Ruth Ann (Petrie) Allsbrook, 76, of Glendale, California, formerly of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018, following a brief illness.

Ruth was born in 1942 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late R. Derrill and Margaret Petrie. She graduated from James Wood High School, Class of 1960, and the University of Virginia, School of Nursing, in Charlottesville. After a career as a nurse for several years, Ruth devoted the next chapter of her life to raising her four children, which she felt was her life’s greatest achievement. Ruth resided in the Los Angeles area for the last several decades, where she enjoyed walking, sewing, and numerous cultural activities. Her greatest passion was her family, spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, John W. Allsbrook of Blacklick, Ohio, Jeffrey W. Allsbrook of Los Angeles, California, Kristin M. Ciofalo of Cerritos, California, and Beth M. Allsbrook of San Pedro, California; a sister, Clara Wakefield of Stephens City, Virginia; three grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas H. Petrie of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 12th, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
