Mrs. Ruby Faye Castleman Hildebrand, 85, of Clear Brook, Virginia died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Hildebrand was born in 1931 in Brucetown, Virginia, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Nellie Castleman. She attended Stonewall High School and was a homemaker for her family. Mrs. Hildebrand enjoyed camping and fishing with her late husband Bob, and grandchildren. She was an avid reader, loved going to yard sales, singing and dancing to folk and bluegrass music, playing the guitar, and enjoyed cooking.
Her husband, William “Bob” Franklin Hildebrand, preceded her in death on January 12, 2004.
Surviving are sons, David A. Hildebrand (Carolyn) of Clear Brook, Virginia, Dana A. Hildebrand (Donna) of Gore, Virginia, Kevin F. Hildebrand (Debra) of Summit Point, West Virginia; grandchildren, Jeremy, Robin, Emily, Daniel, James, David and Kevin; great grandchildren, Haleigh, Camden, Sawyer, Daniel, Miyo, Emma, Sahara, Gretchen, and Amber; sisters, Evelyn Patton of Winchester, Virginia and Madeline Markel of Stephenson, Virginia.
Mrs. Hildebrand was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Lottie Thompson and Violet Day; brothers, Melvin, Buddy, and Jimmy Castleman.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Yun Kim officiating. Interment will be in Brucetown United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2161 Brucetown Road, Clear Brook, Virginia.
