Roxie A. Whitacre
Roxie Ann Haines Whitacre, 62 of Frederick County, Virginia, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 in her home.
Mrs. Whitacre was born in 1948, in Cumberland, Maryland, the daughter of the late Samuel L. and G. Frances Haines. She was a Data Entry Clerk and Buyer for Midwesco Filter Resources in Winchester, having served for over 20 years. She was a member of Peoples Country Church in Frederick County. Mrs. Whitacre was a graduate of Hampshire High School in Romney, West Virginia, Class of 1966. Roxie loved cooking, shopping and attending car shows with her husband.
She married L.V. “Jack” Whitacre on May 2, 1974 in Points, West Virginia.
Surviving with her husband, are her children, Troy D. Haines and his wife, Amy, of Springfield, West Virginia, Jackelyn R. Brannon and husband, Gerald, Jr., of Stephens City, Virginia, Kristin M. Orndorff and husband, Aaron, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Beth W. Shobe and husband, Tony; Paige D. Williams and husband, Karl, all of Stephens City, Virginia; 7 grandchildren, Brittany Haines Cunningham, Jayla, Isaac and Hayden Brannon, Courtney and Zackery Shobe and Aubrie Williams; great grandchild, Hailey R. Cunningham; sister, Sharon F. Hott of Fort Ashby, West Virginia; brother, Gary S. Haines of Springfield, West Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Wanda “Pete” Weaver and Nikki Kimble.
One grandson, Luke M. Williams and two sisters, Carol F. Puffinburger and Zanna S. Sirk, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, from 2:00-5:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
Funeral services will be private.
