Jean Middledorf, 73, a native of Southern Maryland and resident of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 22, 2018 after a long illness. Ms. Middledorf was born in 1944 in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late Robert and Frances Middledorf. After thirty years of hard work, she retired as a paralegal from the law firm Blank Rome located in Washington, D.C. A person with many interests, Ms. Middledorf was an avid Redskins fan who rarely missed a game. She enjoyed playing bingo, home shopping, scrapbooking, and gardening. Spring was her favorite season. Her food of choice was always Maryland Blue Crabs. Jean was a private person who enjoyed the company of family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and animal lover who will be sorely missed. Surviving is a son, Chris Donaldson (Jennifer White) of Gaithersburg, Maryland; grandchildren, Maleah, Kaydence, and Adelyn; sisters, Rita Walters and Dianne Middledorf (Kevin Payne) all of Stephens City, Virginia; and brother, Cris Middledorf (Diana) of Dunkirk, Maryland, many nieces and nephews worldwide, and Jean’s beloved dog, Toby. Ms. Middledorf was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Robert Middledorf, Jr., and her former husband and lifelong friend, William Donaldson. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 30th, 2018, at Omps Funeral Home at 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA 22601. The burial service will be conducted at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1941 Macedonia Church Road, White Post, Virginia at noon on March 31st, 2018. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caregivers and staff of Blue Ridge Hospice for their loving care of Jean and the support they provided her family.
