Robert Paul Walker, 72, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away, Thursday, November 19, 2009, in Woodstock, Virginia.
Mr. Walker was born in 1937, in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Robert D. and Dorothy Elizabeth Walker. He was a 1954 graduate of Washington Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia. Mr. Walker retired as an Architect with Dewberry & Davis. He was a member of Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church. Robert was extremely proud of his family, especially his four children. He enjoyed time with them whenever possible. He was an avid coin collector in his spare time.
He married Mary Zirk on September 20, 1958, in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife of fifty-one years; are four sons, Paul Walker, Jr. and his wife, Luci of Winchester, Rick Walker of Stephens City, Randy Walker and Rusty Walker and his wife, Allison, both of Centreville; five grandchildren, Scott, Jeremy, Jessica, Robyn and Josiah, and one on the way; one great granddaughter, Kaydence; and four sisters, Dorothy Hubbard of Stephens City, Virginia Boylan of Arlington, Karen Walker of Fort Myers, Florida, and Cheryll Walker of Stephens City. Two sisters, Sandy Zepp and Ruby Powell, precede him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday at Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Eric G. Farel officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
