Robert Keith “Fatback” Hawkins, 60, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Monday, November 12, 2018, surrounded by family at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.

Keith was born in 1957 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Robert and Elsie Hawkins. He was a very talented brick layer and stone mason. Keith enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being out under the stars. He had a deep compassion for his family and for the Lord. Keith was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd.

He married Becky Spanos on October 8, 1983 and was reunited in marriage on November 2, 2018.

Surviving are sisters, Barbara Martin (Ron), Robin Staubs (John) and Crystal Messick (Sid); one niece and five nephews; and his loving great nieces, great nephews, cousins, dear friends, and his “street kids” who lovingly called him Pops.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1 pm on Saturday, December 1st, at Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Vernon Bray officiating. Interment will be private.
Following the service everyone is invited to the church fellowship hall to share a meal and to continue celebrating Keith’s life.
