Robert “Bob” Joseph Ashbridge, 80, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Friday, January 30, 2015, at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center, Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Ashbridge was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Edward B. and Nana Ashbridge. He was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Ashbridge was a Manufacturing Technician with DuPont Paint Plant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, retiring in December of 1998.
He married Rubye M. Bolay on July 22, 1965, in Media, Pennsylvania.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Patricia Bailey (Jack) of Winchester, VA, Denise Quigley (Steve) of Upper Chichester, PA; son, Lawrence Marshall of Wayne, PA; grandchildren, Christopher Bailey (Jessica), Melissa Johnson (Trevor), Lucas Marshall; great grandchildren, Kinsley and Ashlyn Johnson; and his brother, Edward Ashbridge, Jr.
Three sisters, Viola Showalter, Jean Robertson and Roberta McKenzie, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, prior to the service, from 11:00-12:30PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Chaplain Kitty Hahn officiating. Interment will be private.
