Robert Bert Yost, 85, of Clear Brook, Virginia, died Monday, July 20, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Yost was born in 1930, in Mannington, West Virginia, the son of the late Robert M. and Ruth Yost. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Yost was a skilled electrician and dedicated worker serving in various positions throughout his lifetime. He was employed for many years with the Eaton Corporation as well as together with his wife owned and operated the Fort Loudoun Restaurant, and Make and Make Believe Toy Store in Winchester. Robert was a devoted family man and always ready to help anyone. He will be forever remembered for the love of his family, his Christian beliefs and outstanding character. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He married Shirley Thomas on April 10, 1954, in Mannington, West Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are daughters, Barbara Kettlewell and husband, John, of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Genene Lynn Elliot of Clear Brook, Robert Allen Yost and wife, Stacy of Winchester; 7 grandchildren; Josie, Jonathan, Amy, Joanna, Logan, Allison and Chelsey; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Sarah Jane Ammons of Morgantown, West Virginia; brothers, James Yost and wife, Joyce, of Morgantown and William Yost of Mannington, West Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 11:00-1:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Funeral Celebrant Joseph R. Dilleree officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Frederick County, Virginia.
