Richard Garland Maddox, Sr., 48, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019, at his home.
Richard was born in 1971 in Arlington, Virginia, son of Caralin Lovins and the late Richard Maddox. He loved working in the woods, floating down the river, spending time with his family and his grandkids meant the world to him.
He married Shannon Detri (Maddox) on February 14, 2015 in Winchester, VA.
Surviving with his wife are his children, Christopher and Gabby May, Miranda and Paul Wick, Amber and Frank D’Andrea, Tina and Chris Konka, Heather and Duncan Brown, Leonard Maddox and Richard Maddox Jr.; grandchildren Jordan, Liam, Ryan, Landynn, Kayden, Christina and Marlena; along with sister, Connie Harris, his mother Caralin Jayne Lovins, stepfather, Alfred Lovins, and grandmother, Lillian Johnson. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard Maddox.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, October 12th, at Hotts Chapel Pentecostal Church, 566 Burnt Factory Road, Stephenson, Virginia. A reception will follow the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
