Reverend James Edward Lambert, 91, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Manassas Health and Rehab Center.
Rev. Lambert was born in 1926 in Tazwell, Virginia, the son of the late Charles and Lucy Lambert. He was a groundskeeper at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley retiring in 2015. Rev. Lambert was of the Pentecostal faith. He was truly a man of God who lived by his faith and witnessed God’s love to others. Rev. Lambert loved his family, had many friends, and was a kind, good-hearted soul with a strong sense of humor. He enjoyed long walks and enjoyed long country drives with his wife to appreciate God’s beauty, especially the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. He enjoyed playing acoustic guitar and electric bass guitar.
His wife, Erma Elizabeth Lambert, whom he married in 1949 preceded him in death in 2011. She was his pride and joy, always calling her “Shug” or “Honey”.
Surviving are daughters, Bonnie Flynn (Bill) of Stephens City, Virginia and Jo Ann Passmore (Jeff) of Winchester, Virginia; sons, Jack Lambert (Stacey) of Inwood, West Virginia, Ric Lambert (Paula) of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, Eddie, JC, and Mike Lambert of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Cody and Jacob Shumaker, Brandon Leach, Ricky Lambert, Miranda Flynn, and Kayla Subramanian (Kunal); great grandchildren, Kinsey and Jackson; and brothers, Tommy, Johnny, J.C Lambert of Winchester, Virginia.
Along with his wife, Rev. Lambert was preceded in death by daughter, Lucy Mae Lambert; son, Kenny Lambert; sisters, Margret Stewart and Betty Biando; and brother, Joseph Lambert.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Phil Brumback officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
