Rebecca “Bec” E. Snider
Rebecca Snider, 93, of Winchester, Virginia, died Monday, February 6, 2012, in a Local Nursing Home of Winchester, Virginia.
Mrs. Snider, was born in 1918, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late William Ralph and Edith “Patty” Pifer. She was employed at the family business Winchester Printers and Stationery. Mrs. Snider was a member of Braddock Street United Methodist Church in Winchester, Virginia and attended Handley High School. In her spare time Bec enjoyed traveling especially to Myrtle Beach and the family cabin in Capon Bridge, West Virginia. She was also an avid collector of fossils and arrowheads. Bec was a loving wife, sister and aunt will be greatly missed by all.
Mrs. Snider married Upton Lawrence Snider in 1947, in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Surviving is her sister, Elizabeth Duncan of Winchester, Virginia; nieces and nephews, Rebecca Bush and her husband Roland of Winchester, VA, W Lawrence Duncan of Boyce, VA, Alfred Robertson of Winchester, VA, Carolyn Plank and her husband Terry of Winchester, VA, Susan Phillips of Winchester, VA, Betsy Orndorff and her husband Miles of Winchester, Va, George Snider and his wife Joyce of Martinsburg, WV; aunt Farley Massey of Winchester, VA, Bec is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and many great –great nieces and nephews as well as many close friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, in Mount Hebron Cemetery with Pastor Sarah Pugh officiating.
