James Anderson left a message on October 31, 2022:
Very sorry to hear of Ray's passing. He was quite a character. I still remember working for him as a receptionist after I graduated college and being a young single male I had been joking around with some of the sales people, and made some inane comment about needing an attractive young single female receptionist. Word of that got to Ray somehow and one day when I was at the reception desk he asked a normal sounding question about is there something wrong with my chair or what shoes I was wearing - I don't remember exactly what, but what I do remember is I rolled out from under the desk not expecting anything out of the ordinary. Then he sat right down on my lap and put his arm around me! Said something to the effect of "I heard you want me to hire a date for you". I don't remember exactly what he said since I was caught off guard, realizing some of the sales people were laughing since they were in on it too. And you know what? It was one of my favorite memories of working there. ** For anyone reading and thinking "That's inappropriate!" I want to make it clear that I thought it was funny both then and now, that my mom worked for Ray for decades, that he was a family friend I knew long before I worked for him, that I enjoyed working for him, that some of the sales people were family friends too - some for decades, and that I had even done a couple small personal side jobs for a few.
