Raymond Lewis Ferguson, 92 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Raymond was born in 1933 in Williamson, WV, the son of the late General Abner Ferguson and Annie Gertrude Ferguson. He was a high school graduate and attended Marshall University. Raymond served our country in the United States Air Force as an Airman 1st Class from 1953 to 1957 during the Korean War. During his time in the Air Force, Raymond received National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals of Honor. He retired as a Telecommunications Shift Supervisor for the Department of the Army. After retiring, Raymond enjoyed serving his community by delivering Meals on Wheels to underprivileged seniors.
Raymond married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Anne Brown, on November 6, 1953. She preceded him in death on March 31, 2025.
Raymond enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, watching old movies, and spending time with his family.
Everyone that knew Raymond could see that he was a selfless, hard-working, honest, and a devoted family man. Raymond was a member of Opequon Presbyterian Church and had a strong faith in God. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Raymond is survived by his daughters, Laura J. Keister (Michael), Carol Anne Ferguson, and his granddaughter, Alyssa J. Keister.
A funeral service will be held for Raymond on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11am at Opequon Presbyterian Church. Interment will be private. Officiating will be Pastor David Witt.
