Pedro Chanil Velasquez, 46, of Winchester, VA passed away Friday, June 19, 2020.

Pedro was born in 1974 in El Salvador, son of Jose Yanes-Bonilla and Berta Olivia Velasquez-Zavala. He was employed at Wolf Tree Company. Pedro loved to watch and play soccer. He always enjoyed a good workout at the gym and taking walks. Pedro was a loving son, husband, father, and brother. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Surviving is his wife, Maria Santos Zavala; daughters, Bertha Zulma Velasquez of Gainesville, GA, Yeyhlin Yamaris Velasquez-Zavala and Leslie Ibeth Velasquez-Zavala both of Winchester, VA; son, Justin Gael Velasquez-Zavala of Winchester, VA; granddaughter, Abigail Kissel Funes Velasquez of Gainesville, VA; sisters, Maria Dora Santos (Vicente), Rosa Ermelinda Velasquez (Gilberto), Vilma Sonia Velasquez de Calderon (Juan), Maira Celenia Velasquez-Cervellon (Alexis), Santos Yamileth Velasquez de Calderon (Natividad) all of Gainesville, VA, Doris Yanes of Houston TX, Josefina Bonilla of El Salvador, Lucidia Castillo of Huntington NY, Marina Yanes, Carmen Yanes, Victoria Bonilla all of El Salvador; brothers, Miguel Velasquez (Reyna), Valentin Velasquez Yanes (Maria) both of Monterey, CA, Reynaldo Velasquez (Maira) and Jose Orlando Yanes Velasquez (Irene) both of Winchester, VA, Raul Yanes of New Market VA, Marcos Bonilla of Dallas TX, and Francisco Yanes of New York.

A visitation will be from 6 pm to 10 pm on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 am on Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Holmes officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
