Pauline “P.P.” Elizabeth Rose Pope, 76, of Stephens City, VA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at her residence with her family by her side.
Mrs. Pope was born in Tazewell, VA, in 1940, the daughter of the late Louis Edward and Hazel Rose. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Rose Hill Nursing Home, The Willows at Meadow Branch, and The Southerlands in Front Royal, VA. Most recently, she was working for Compassionate Home Care in Winchester, VA.
Her husband, John Dorson Pope, whom she married on March 24, 1962 in Manassas, VA, preceded her in death on April 13, 2006.
Mrs. Pope is survived by her six daughters, Brenda Legg (Joe), of Knoxville, MD, Karen Fortney (Bruce), of Elizabeth City, NC, Sharon Chapman, of Stephens City, VA, Carolyn Stimson (Steve), of Sterling, VA, Patricia Conrad (Robert), of Winchester, VA, and Cindy Fogelman (Steve), of Inwood, WV; three sons, Mike Pope (Tessa), of Winchester, VA, Richard Pope (Erica), of Baker, WV, and Jeff Pope (Angela), of Winchester, VA; seventeen grandchildren, Carrie, Beth, Bruce, Tamma, Johnathon, Jessica, Chris, Kevin, Cristina, Brandy, Justin, John, Amy, Amanda, Ian, Brandon, and Vincent; nineteen great-grandchildren, Keith, Marcus, Emily, Ayden, Sawyer, Dalton, Little Johnathon, Corey, Haleigh, Nicholas, Kendall, Tyson, Courtney, Nichole, Ivy, Lexi, Kaylei, Colton, and Trevor; four sisters, Mary Echols “Toots” (Arnold), of Winchester, VA, Debbie Davidson (Lou), of Anderson, IN, Nancy Reese (Teddy), of Dillwood, VA, and Ruthie Spinks (Arthur), of Colonial Beach, VA; and three brothers, Beverly Rose (Fairy), of Richmond, VA, David Rose (Patty), of Warrenton, VA, and Warren Rose, of Martinsburg, WV.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Eugene Rose and five brothers, Roger Rose, James Rose, Donald Rose, Darrell Rose, and Eugene Rose.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Joe Legg, Pastor Craig Whitacre, and Pastor Mark Ramey officiating. Entombment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum. A reception will follow at Wesleyan Fellowship Church, 2239 Martinsburg Pike, Winchester, VA 22603.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Conrad, Steve Fogelman, Justin Conrad, Shawn Brechbill, Timmy Kirby, and Steve Stimson.
