Pauline C. Owens

        Pauline Conley Owens, 94, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Owens was born in 1920, in Lackey, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Milford and Laura Conley.  She attended Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Kentucky and was a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education. She was a teacher of early education in Kentucky and Virginia as well as a homemaker.  Mrs. Owens attended the Church of the Good Shepherd in Winchester and was a member of the Eastern Star.

She married Glynn Harold Owens on June 16, 1952, in Hindman, Kentucky.

Surviving with her husband is her daughter, Joy Owens Putnam and husband, Terrill, of Georgetown, Texas; son, David Glynn Owens and wife, Sherri Smith, of Winchester; grandchildren, Jennifer Joy Owens, Mikayla Renee Owens, Mackenzie Lynn Owens, all of Winchester and nephew, Jack Wicker and wife, Sandy, of Knoxville, Tennessee.

One sister, Irene Conley Wicker, preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
