Paul Junior Goode
Paul “Junior” Goode, loving husband, father, grandfather, age 81, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2017, surrounded by his family at his residence that he built in Stephens City after a courageous fight with COPD.
Mr. Goode was born in 1935, the son of the late Jimmy and Lona Goode in Gore, Virginia. He retired from Abex Corporation after 26 years of service where he worked in production. He built quality homes in his spare time. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Paul loved dancing and working in his garden. He was well known for his great sense of humor.
Paul married Peggy Marie DuBose in Hagerstown, Maryland on January 17, 1959.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 58 years are a daughter, Dana G. Miller (fiancé, Luigi Deludos) of Inwood, West Virginia; three sons, Paul Goode (Tina) of Stephens City, Virginia, Kevin Goode (Gloria) of Middletown, Virginia, and Terry Goode (Karen) of High View, West Virginia; a step son, Steven Ray Hall of Martinsburg, West Virginia and a step daughter, Bonnie Jean Orr of Inwood, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Matthew Goode, Cody Goode, Nicholas Goode, Ryan Goode, Ciara Miller, Amanda Goode; two step-grandchildren, Devin Long, and Heather Long; two great grandchildren, Scarlett Goode and Karina Wendt; one sister, Violet Bowman of Winchester, Virginia; and two brothers, Forrest Goode of Mt. Falls, Virginia, and Garland Goode of Winchester, Virginia.
One sister and 10 brothers preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2017, at Omps, South Chapel, with Reverend David Duckworth officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
Immediately following the service a reception in honor of Paul will be held at Regency Lakes Estates, 216 Regency Lakes Dr., Winchester, VA.
