Mr. Corso was born in 1917, in Santo Stefano, Sicily, the son of the late Salvatore and Rose Corso. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps. He was a retired engineer for the C & O Railroad after 38 years of service. Paul was a dedicated member of the St. Leo Catholic Church and a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus. He was loving soul who was very proud of his Italian heritage, who loved his family dearly, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
His wife, Ella Lee Corso, whom he married in 1942, in Florida, preceded him in death on September 12, 2009.
Surviving are his sons, Paul J. Corso and wife, Karen, of McLean, Virginia and Ronald S. Corso of South Miami, Florida, as well as a sister, Ida Masdonati of Inwood, West Virginia.
Mr. Corso was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, with a Wake service beginning at 6:00 PM and visitation following until 8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 12, 2013 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Inwood, West Virginia with Father Paul Wharton officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant View Memory Garden in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
