Paul J. “PJ” Bauer
Paul James “PJ” Bauer, 70, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Bauer was born in 1940, in Buffalo, New York, the son of the late Arthur and Frances Bauer. He was a Communications Engineer with AT&T retiring after 32 years of service. Mr. Bauer was a member of Front Royal Moose Lodge #829 and Bowie Elks Lodge #2309. He was a graduate of Seneca Vocational High School, Class of 1959 and the University of Maryland – Business School, receiving an Associates Degree. Mr. Bauer was a Veteran having served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Specialist 4. Mr. Bauer was an avid fisherman and builder, always with his flip flops.
Surviving is his daughter, Laurie Ann Bauer-Warner and her husband, Daniel, of Austin Texas; son, Gregory Paul Bauer and his wife, Tamara, of Bel Air, Maryland; granddaughter, Siena Elizabeth Bauer; his former wife, Carol Pogorzala Bauer of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Arthur Bauer and his wife Lois of Cheektowaga, New York, Roy Bauer and his wife Priscilla of Estero, Florida. Also surviving are his niece, Jackie Bauer Yates; two nephews, Russell Bauer and Jay Bauer and his brother in law, Kenneth H. Preston and his wife Laurel of Florida, and many cousins, his devoted, loving companion and partner, Barbara Lewis; his best friends, Patrick Younk and Steve Rezak.
He was preceded in death by his loving faithful K9 companion Nattie.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ Catholic Church, 130 Keating Drive, Winchester, VA 22601 on November 11, 2011 at 11:00am.
