Patricia Washington Long
Patricia “Pooter” Marie Washington Long, 68, of Middletown, Virginia, died Thursday, November 14, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.
Ms. Long was born in 1945, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Herman R. and Irene Washington, Sr. She was a Cook at the Wayside Inn in Middletown, Virginia and Frederick County Senior Center in Stephens City, Virginia, retiring in 2008. Ms. Long was a member of Stephens City United Methodist Church and loved her children, grandchildren and extended family. She also enjoyed cooking, reading and quilting.
Surviving are three daughters, Paulette D. Long of Middletown, Virginia, Nanette D. Tinsley and her husband, Keith, of Mount Rainier, Maryland, Teresa A. Long of Middletown, Virginia; sons, Charles Stanley Long, Jr. and wife, Regan, of Winchester, Brett D. Long and wife, Michelle, of Stephens City, Virginia; grandchildren, Rachelle, Tracey, Stanley, III, Geremi, Hannah, Jazmyn and Jaeda; sisters, Nancy Washington of Winchester, Irene Mincey of Linden, Virginia; brothers, James Washington and wife, Elizabeth, Paul Washington and wife, Charlotte, all of Winchester and good friend, Betty Journell.
One brother, Herman Washington, Jr., preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, at Stephens City United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeff Butcher and Reverend Waverley Reames officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Patricia Long Memorial Fund c/o Paulette Long.
