Patricia Ann Haun Vann, age 85, passed away October 11, 2024, in Richmond, VA.
Born March 14, 1939, in Winchester, Virginia, Patricia was the daughter of Earl Anderson Haun and Lena Viola Robertson Haun. She was the granddaughter of Phillip Martin Haun and Elizabeth Bell Fletcher Haun who raised her until she was ten years old. Patricia considered Phillip and Elizabeth the major role models and mentors in her life.
Patricia was a graduate of John Handley High School, class of 1957. She was also a graduate of the University of North Carolina’s Dental Assistants Program and was a certified dental assistant for Dr. Orville O. van Deusen in Winchester.
On May 19, 1963, she married Linden Allen Vann, Jr. of Winchester with whom she shared 56 wonderful years before his passing in 2019. In 1964, Patricia and Linden joined the Valley Avenue Church of Christ, now known as the Church of Christ at Mountain View. She remained faithful until her death.
Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She assisted Linden throughout his career as a home builder and earned her Virginia Real Estate License to support the business. Although she was proud of her career accomplishments, raising her two children brought her the greatest joy and satisfaction. She was the foundation of the family and exemplified the qualities of a wonderful mother. Later in life, Patricia’s greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and preparing their favorite meals. She was most proud when they awarded her macaroni and cheese the distinction of “world famous.”
Patricia is survived by her son, Linden Allen Vann, III of Atlanta, GA; her daughter, Stephanie E. Vann Renner (Christopher) of Glen Allen, VA; and three grandchildren, William Christopher Renner, Anna Virginia Renner, and Jacob Linden Renner. She is also survived by her brother, Bobby Allen Haun of Winchester, VA.
In addition to her husband, parents, and grandparents, Patricia was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra L. Haun Massie.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held the following day, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 11:00am at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Evangelist Richard Rexrode officiating. Entombment will be at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Serving as pallbearers will be Linden Vann, III, Bobby Haun, Christopher Renner, William Renner, Jacob Renner, and Scott Anderson.
The family would like to thank Our Lady of Hope Health Center in Richmond, VA, for their kindness, support, and compassionate care of Patricia over the last several years.
