Paul, Terry and Debbie -- We are so sorry to hear about Pat. Though we can't make it down for the service, please know our thoughts are with you as you remember her. Growing up on Brandon Way our families were always close. I remember the neighborhood "mother's coffees" they use to have, and many times it was just Pat and my mother Barbara that got together to chat while the kids played. But perhaps my own favorite remembrance of Pat was at one of your daughter's weddings as we watched Pat and Paul dancing the jitterbug -- wow you both could really dance! I mostly remember that big smile Pat had while she was out there dancin' with her man.
Paul, I think she's waiting eagerly for you to dance once again together in heaven someday. May the sorrow of this time be washed away by the warmth of the love that you and all of us had for the wonderful person that Pat was.

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, “There, she is gone. Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. Her diminished size is in me — not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, “There, she is gone,”
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, “Here she comes!”
