Paloma Rosalee McDonald passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 14, 2016. Paloma was born on August 24, 2002 in Leesburg, Virginia to Easton Lee and Julissa Ramona McDonald. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters, Elizabeth Giselee, Haile Pamela, and Leah Nathalia; her loving grandparents, Lurlene Davis, Manuel & Gloria De Los Santos, Derrick E. McDonald and the late Rosa Veras; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins from New Jersey and New York. Paloma was an adventurous seventh grade student at James Wood Middle School. She loved music, dancing, playing games, going to basketball, making friends, and helping out in the concession stand. Paloma enjoyed attending church, listening to bible stories, and praising and worshiping The Lord. She never met a stranger and she always made “best” friends wherever she went. Paloma always saw the best in everyone who crossed her path. She enjoyed being around people, and making them smile brought her the most joy. She had a special gift of caring for others and making their day. Riding her bike, swimming and playing outside with her friends and sisters were some of the many things she loved.

Paloma enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, face-timing, making funny videos and taking selfies. She treasured her 2 dogs, Mack and Isis. Traveling to New York to visit family and spending long days at the beach were two things that she truly cherished. Paloma loved life and life loved her back!

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 19, from 4:00pm-8:00pm, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A homegoing service will be conducted at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Saturday, February 20th. The viewing will begin at 12:00pm and the service will begin at 1:00pm.

Floral arrangements can be sent to Omps Funeral Home at 1600 Amherst St., Winchester, VA 22601.

Seeing Paloma smile always brightened my day. She has left behind so many fun memories that I will cherish. Losing a child is one of the hardest things to endure, I pray for continued strength for the entire McDonald family. You all will continue to be in my prayers.

I worked with Paloma at James Wood Middle School last year. She always brought a smile to my face, especially on my bad days. She wanted me to sit with her at lunch nearly every day and chatted with me throughout the lunch period. I missed her being in the halls and at lunch this year!!
