Nicholas Peter (Nick) Pollak, 43, of Stephens City, VA, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at his home.
Nick was born in 1981 in Schenectady, NY, son of Frederick and Patricia Pollak. He was a graduate of Baldwinsville High School in New York and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Valley Forge Christian College and a Paramedics Certification from Laurel Ridge Community College. Nick’s life was one of service – first as a Youth Minister, then as an Emergency Medical Technician, and ultimately as a Medical Transport Paramedic (Vesper Medical Transport). Nick was frequently recognized by his patients as having provided care and service far above their expectations. In addition to being an EMT in the Stephens City Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Nick served on the Department’s Board of Directors for many years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, helping others, and spending time with his children. His greatest passion, besides community service and family was his faithful dog, IV.
Surviving with his parents is a daughter, Hannah Michelle Pollak and a son, Joshua Peter Pollak; sister, Elizabeth Michelle Pollak and brother, Christopher Joseph Pollak (Lea); nephew, Riggs Noah Barbieri and niece, Emily Gray Pollak; maternal grandmother, Saveria Proscia; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear, close friends, especially Marsha, Adam, Lexi, TJ, and Rene; and devoted companion, IV.
Nick was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Nicholas Peter Proscia.
A visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A memorial service will be at 11 am on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Adam Barnes officiating. A time of fellowship will follow the service at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel.
