Nevaline “Nannie” Vincent Strosnider, 92, of Stephens City, VA died July 8, 2016 at Amerisist Assisted Living, Stephens City.
Nannie was born October 16, 1923 to Giles W. and Jessie Baker Vincent and graduated from Stephens City High School, class of 1942. She married Wilbur J. Strosnider in Washington D.C. on October 3, 1942. Wilbur predeceased her on April 9, 1994.
Surviving Nannie are her children, Donna (Robert) McFarland, Winchester, Ronald (Pam) Strosnider, Wardensville, WV, Dianne (Sam) Garber, daughter-in-law, Mary Strosnider, Stephens City, sister, June DeHaven, White Post, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Nannie was predeceased by her son, Leon W. Strosnider, one grandson, three great-grandchildren, brother, Maurice Vincent and sisters, Juanita Strosnider and Betty Anderson.
Noted for her love of family, hospitality, inviting anyone stopping by to sit down and “eat a bite,” Nannie was an amazing chicken and dumplings and homemade light bread kind of cook. Nannie was a member of Salem Church of the Brethren and attended Refuge U.M.C. in later years. She was a long-time employee of Henkel Harris and retired from G.E. in 1989.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 6 to 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Nannie’s grandsons will be her pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Laetitia Schoeman officiating. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park Cemetery, Winchester, VA.
