Nellie E. Golightly
Nellie Elizabeth Strosnider Golightly, 93, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Golightly was born in 1919 in Wardensville, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Robert N. and Cora W. Strosnider. She was a production worker for Rich Foods until her retirement, and she was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
She married Clayton A. Golightly on December 24, 1936. He preceded his wife in death on January 31, 1956.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Golightly Greene, and her husband, Paul, of Woodstock, VA and Shirley Athey, and her husband, Glen, of Capon Bridge, WV; three sons, Paul W. Golightly of Williamsburg, VA, Daniel Golightly, and his wife, Lettie, of Winchester, VA and Steven Golightly and his wife, Sylvia, also of Winchester; a stepson, Theodore Derflinger and his wife, Virginia, of Adamstown, MD; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; a sister, Hopewell Fishel of Winchester, and four brothers, Paul Harrison Strosnider and his wife, Juanita, of Stephens City, VA, Robert Strosnider and his wife, Madge, of Midland, MI, Clifton Strosnider and his wife, Lola, of Stephens City, and Harold Strosnider and his wife, Betty, of Middletown, VA.
Mrs. Golightly was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Golightly, and three sisters, Pauline Pangle, Eunice McDonald and Helen Payton.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Elder Ronald Good officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
