Nancy Thomasson Weart, 73 of Cross Junction, VA, formerly of Richmond, VA, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

Nancy was born in Alexandria, VA, the daughter of the late Francis and Charlotte Thomasson. She graduated from Mount Vernon High school, Class of 1970. Nancy worked as a supervisor for The Great Big Green House in Richmond. She was a gardener who loved her plants and trees. She enjoyed meeting with her book club and loved watching her favorite team the Redskins.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Nelson Weart; son, Kristopher Weart (Kelly) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Ricky Timbrook, Samuel Weart; and her sisters, Tannie Hoskins of North Beach, MD and Joan Thomasson of Winchester, VA.

Services for Nancy will be private.

Kris, I was saddened to learn of your mother's passing. I taught you in kindergarten and would always ask Nancy about you when I would see her at the Great Big Green House. She was very proud of you! I was so sorry to hear of the loss of my good friend Nancy. We spent many happy hours together when she would come to Richmond. She had her "own" room at our house. She was here for book club and to attend the Broadway in Richmond with us. She will always be missed. Diana

I’m so sorry to hear about this. I have fond memories of our Creekwood neighbor. Nancy’s Halloween practices are still very vivid in my memory. I always sought her out at GBG. It was always a nice visit. Sending hugs.
