Nancy Kinnie Shanholtz, 73, of Stephens City, VA passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Winchester Medical Center.
Nancy was born in 1948 in Winchester, VA to the late Lloyd, Sr. and Edna Marie (Largent) Kinnie. She was a graduate of Hampshire County High School, Class of 1966 and worked for 32 years as a line worker for GE. Nancy was on the Apple Valley Relay for Life Team, and was an avid NASCAR fan cheering on #11, Denny Hamlin. She was also a member of Calvary Church of the Brethren in Winchester.
Nancy married Freddie James Shanholtz on November 10, 1967 in Winchester, VA. Nancy passed away 8 days before their 54th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, Freddie, children, Pamela Reynolds (Steven) of Front Royal, VA and James Frederick Shanholtz (Trisha) of Stephens City, VA; grandchildren, Travis Plaugher (Britney) of Star Tannery, VA, Daniel Plaugher (significant other, Lexi) of Winchester, VA, Noah Plaugher of Front Royal, VA, Tyler Shanholtz (Taryn) of Strasburg, VA, Trevor Shanholtz of Stephens City, VA, Brittany Callan of Tampa, FL and Taylor Callan of Stephens City, VA; great granddaughter, Laylin D. Plaugher of Star Tannery, VA; sisters, Edna Walker (Donnie) of Augusta, WV and Joyce Lockhart (John) of Augusta, WV; brothers, Lloyd Kinnie, Jr. (Glenda) of Slanesville, WV, Richard Kinnie (Theresa) of Romney, WV, Donald Kinnie of Strasburg, VA, Roger Kinnie (Shirley) of Slanesville, WV, Jerry Kinnie (Kim) of Augusta, WV and Ward Simmons (Holly) of Rio, WV.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Tony Plaugher, Jr.; sister, Janet Simmons; brothers, Harvey Largent and Kenneth Kinnie.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 form 6pm to 8pm with a funeral service the following day, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11am all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Pastor Jeff Barbour will be officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at Omps Amherst Chapel Reception Center. Following the time of food and fellowship, a graveside service will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
