Michael Lee Chestnut, 50, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at his home after a long illness; with his loving parents by his side, and his trusty cat Moxie.
Mr. Chestnut was born in 1966, in Washington D.C., the son of Edna and Bobby Lee Chestnut of Stephens City, Virginia. He attended James Wood High School and was employed as a Motorcycle Technician with Shenandoah Honda.
Mr. Chestnut was an avid collector of WWII memorabilia, Matchbox Cars and rocks. He enjoyed long rides on his motorcycles with his friends, skate boarding, music and NASCAR.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife Gwyneth B. Chestnut and his son Steven James Chestnut.
Surviving is his daughter, Ashlyhne B. Scofield and husband, Thor, of Winchester; granddaughter, Eowyn Scofield; sister, Teresa Lysowski and husband, John, of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; nephews and nieces, Jack Lysowski of Las Vegas, Nevada, Nicholas Lysowski and Megan Lysowski both of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 6:00-7:30 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Celebration of Life, will be conducted at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Bob Gochenour officiating. Interment will be private.
