Michael Allen, 46, of Cross Junction, VA passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at his home.
Mike was born in 1976 in Charlotte, NC the son of Teresa Rudd and the late Finley Mack Allen. He worked for Patriot Fire & Security in Winchester, VA as foreman. Mike was a collector of coins, football cards, and baseball cards. Mike was a Carolina Panthers and UNC Tarheels fan, and loved all kinds of Shelby’s. He enjoyed playing cornhole, having cookouts and get-togethers with his friends, and eating out. His favorite places were Applebee’s, IHOP, and Island Delight. Mike prided himself in being neat and organized, and found comfort in keeping sentimental items that people had given to him over the years. More than anything, he centered his life around his son, Kian.
Mike is survived by his son, Kian M. Allen of Capon Bridge, WV; mother, Teresa Rudd of Nashville, NC; sister, Kim Hall (Brian) of Hendersonville, NC; brother, Richard Allen (Rhiannan) of Rocky Mount, NC; close friends, Liz and Darrin Zachgo of Cross Junction, VA; close friend, Lew Dowdy, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A gathering for family and friends will be Thursday from 6-7pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 7pm at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Alan Morrison.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mike may be made to the American Cancer Society, 124 Park Street SE, Vienna, VA 22108.
