Merle Brickey Miller, 79, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Friday, December 14, 2018, at her home surrounded by family.
Mrs. Miller was born in 1939 in Norton, Virginia, the daughter of the late Nettie and Henry Brickey, Sr. She attended J.J. Kelly High School in Norton, Virginia and was a Real Estate Broker for numerous real estate companies, retiring from Long & Foster Realty. Mrs. Miller enjoyed crocheting, creating stain glass, oil painting, singing in church, and she loved dogs. In her younger years she loved to dance, especially the “Twist”. She was a member of Country Baptist Church in Manassas, Virginia, where her husband was pastor from 1985 to 2006, and attended Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Front Royal and Winchester Church of God. Mrs. Miller was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Her husband, Earl Miller, Jr., whom she married on September 14, 1955 in Norton, Virginia preceded her in death in 2006.
Surviving are daughters, Marilyn Juanita Cepanec (Robert) of Cross Junction, Virginia, Dinah Sue Seamon (Charles) of Strasburg, Virginia, Donna Ann Adkins (Jeffery) of Winchester, Virginia, Tina Melissa Brinegar (David) of Mt. Jackson, Virginia, and Chrystal Nicole Gulley of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Christina D. Chandler (Chevoit) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Jacquelyn M. Plasters (Scott) of Cross Junction, Virginia, Kevin S. Adkins of Winchester, Virginia, Jason D. Seamon of Front Royal, Virginia, Justin R. Simoni (Rebecca) of Manassas, Virginia, Carolyn S. Adkins of Winchester, Virginia, Christian T. Gulley of Mt. Jackson, Virginia, and Grayson A. Miller of Winchester, Virginia; great grandchildren, Adam and Katelyn Chandler of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Amber Bracey of Toms Brook, Virginia, Ian Bracey and Trevor Plasters, both of Cross Junction, Virginia; step-great grandchildren, Lexie Malone and Logan Plasters; sisters, Deborah Powers of Wise, Virginia and Patricia Allen (Herman) of Waldorf, Maryland; brothers, Darrell and Timothy Brickey, both of Waldorf, Maryland; sister-in-law, Virginia Brickey of Waldorf, Maryland; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved canine companion, Chouji.
Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by daughters, Peggy Sue Miller and Marcella Miller; and brothers, Henry G. Brickey, Jr. and Winford Brickey.
A visitation will be from 12 pm to 1 pm on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with a funeral service at 1 pm with Pastor Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Seamon, Jeffery Adkins, Bob Cepanec, David Brinegar, Justin Simoni, Jason Seamon, and Kevin Adkins.
