Maryanne (Massi) Santilli, 89, of Winchester, VA passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Orchard Woods Health Center in Winchester, VA.
Maryanne was born June 30, 1936, in Elmira, New York, the daughter of the late Peter Massi and Anna Darcangelo Massi of Corning, New York. Maryanne graduated from Northside High School in 1954 and later from Rochester Business Institute (RBI). She worked at several law firms in Rochester, New York. Maryanne married Bruce Tullio Santilli in 1963 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Corning, NY. She was a world traveler living in Port Elizabeth, South Africa where Bruce worked for Borg-Warner 1971-1976. They traveled throughout southern Africa, Europe and a ‘Round the World’ trip to Australia, Hawaii, Los Angeles and Rio de Janeiro. Bruce and Maryanne also lived in Detroit, MI, Birmingham, MI, Muncie, IN, and Tucson, AZ and moved to Winchester in 1981.
Maryanne was a homemaker and volunteer with numerous Winchester area organizations including Helping Hands, Winchester Medical Center and CCAP.
Maryanne was a parishioner at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crocheting, playing bridge and spending time with family and friends.
Maryanne was preceded in death by her husband of almost 57 years Bruce Santilli, sister Josephine (JoJo) Massi Ellet, sister-in-law Beverly Massi and her parents Anna and Peter.
Maryanne is survived by daughter Ann Santilli Levi (Jon) of Berryville, VA; son David Bruce Santilli (Kristine Hastreiter) of Wareham, MA; grandsons Peter Rice Levi of Charles Town, WV and William Santilli Levi of McLean, VA; brother Thomas Massi of Painted Post, NY; sister Teresa McManus (Michael) of Elmira, NY; nieces Lisa, Michelle, Ellen, Jennifer and Katie, and nephew Michael.
The funeral service will be at The Chapel at The Village at Orchard Ridge at 2:00 PM on Friday August 8 followed by a reception. Burial will be private at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
