Mary Lucielle Everline
Mary Lucielle Everline, age 89, of Winchester, VA, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at a local nursing facility. Mrs. Everline was born in 1923 in Mt. Savage, MD, the daughter of the late Irvin and Loretta Geiger. She was a graduate of Frostburg State College and taught elementary school in Mt. Savage, MD from 1943 – 1950. She then taught at Virginia Avenue School in Winchester from 1965 – 1985, retiring after teaching for 42 years. After retiring, she volunteered at Virginia Avenue School in the library. Mrs. Everline was a member of First United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School for 25 years, was a member of the Florence Nightingale Class, and a member of United Methodist Women. Mrs. Everline was also a member of Virginia Retired Teachers, Winchester Retired Teachers, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
She married Lloyd Paul Everline on September 1, 1950 in Wellersburg, PA. Mr. Everline preceded her in death on May 31, 2006.
Surviving is a daughter, Lois Jean Everline of Winchester, VA; a son-in-law; three grandsons; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ella Jean Troutman of Hyndman, PA, Pauline Sturtz of Cumberland, MD. A daughter, Sheila Ann Nagy, and three sisters, Esther Geiger, Virginia Humble, and Margaret Ann Hoff preceded her in death.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral, Amherst Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Will White officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
