Mary Frances Puglielli, 92, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in Front Royal, Virginia.
Mrs. Puglielli was born in 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Daniel and Genevieve Mawhinney. She was a graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School and later graduated from Immaculata College with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Mrs. Puglielli married Silvio B. Puglielli on October 8, 1955 at Saint Margaret’s Church in Narberth, Pennsylvania. The young couple moved to New Jersey where they raised their children. Mary was a kind and loving homemaker who cared deeply for her husband and three children, supporting and encouraging them in everything they did. In addition to being a homemaker, Mary was an educator, teaching sixth grade at Holy Family School in Lakewood, New Jersey. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Myrtle Beach where Mary remained active in the community, serving as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach. Mary was a gentle, caring, and compassionate woman with a sharp wit and a sense of humor. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving are husband Silvio B. Puglielli; daughters Maryann Puglielli of Front Royal, Virginia and Terri Rose and husband, Johnathan of Miami Shores, Florida; son, Joseph Puglielli and wife, Monika, of Whitefish, Montana; and three grandchildren: Max Puglielli, Kaitlyn and Ethan Rose.
Mrs. Puglielli was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted at a later date.
