Mark Thomas Hilty, 55, of Linden, Virginia, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Hilty was born in 1962, in Orleans, France, the son of Agnes T. Hilty and the late Kenneth R. Hilty. He was a 1980 graduate of James Wood High School in Winchester, Virginia and attended Old Dominion University. He was employed as an Assistant Director of Design and Construction with Fairfax County Public Schools. His favorite place to be was at Lake Gaston on his boat “Shut Up and Fish”, where he was known to catch a fish or two. The great outdoors was his passion. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and sitting by the lake with family and friends. He loved all music, especially classic rock, and played air guitar with all the bands in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!
Mark was a loving son, husband, brother and friend to many and will be missed.
He married Mickey Hedrick in May 31, 1991 in Winchester, Virginia
Surviving with his wife and mother, are his sisters, Rodie Zolecki (Tom) of Pace, Florida, Terry Sheets (Bryant) and Toni Crown (Monty) all of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Joan Helsley and Carol Wagner (Ron) all of Panama City, Florida; brothers, Keith Hilty (Deborah) of Winchester, Virginia, David Hilty of Chipley, Florida, Greg Hilty (Dawn) of Youngstown, Florida and John Hilty (Marita) of Hazelwood, Missouri. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Internment will be private. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 20th, at Millwood Station Banquet Hall, 252 Costello Drive, Winchester, Va.
