Mark R. Secrist, II, 30, of Winchester, Virginia, made his triumphant entry into Heaven on Sunday, March 25, 2018, in Winchester.
Mark was born in 1987 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Mark and Mary Rose Secrist. Mark achieved the rank of Eagle Scout by completing his Eagle Scout Project in July 2005 at Weaver Park which provided fencing, Leyland Cypress Tree plantings, and the rock displaying Weaver Park. He attended Lord Fairfax Community College. Mark was a man of many talents. As an accomplished pianist, he composed original works and enjoyed playing a variety of musical instruments. He loved astronomy, nature, chemistry, and snowboarding. Mark was baptized as a Christian.
Surviving with his parents are sisters, Rachel Secrist Doyle of Euless, Texas, Rebekah Mary Secrist Hudson (David) of Sandy’s, Bermuda, Sarah Grace Secrist (Cory Schaffer) of Keller, Texas, and Hannah Faith Secrist of Radford, Virginia; and brother, John Mark Secrist of Cary, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 pm on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Dale Zilke officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mark’s memory to Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy, 203 South Cameron Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
