Marilyn A. Coleman

Marilyn Ann Peer Coleman, 82, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.

Mrs. Coleman was born in 1929, in Arlington County, Virginia, the daughter of Frederick and Frances Peer. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic Faith. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was passionate about spending quality time with her family and friends.

She married Arthur Coleman, Jr. on July 22, 1951, in Rockville, Maryland. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1992.

Surviving is her son, Arthur Coleman III and wife, Debra, of Winchester, one grandchild; Arthur “Artie” Coleman IV; three great grandchildren and her brother, Gerald Peer and wife, Gina, of Staunton, Virginia as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her daughter, Marguerite Coleman, two sisters and three brothers, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Gerald Peer officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
