Dear Gary, Lillian & family: From the moment I met Marie, when I was six years old, I loved her! So beautiful and full of life. She worked with my mom at Worth's Clothing Store and immediately became a friend. Often, on Saturday nights, mom & Daddy would have friends over, and I was always so happy when Marie was there. One night, daddy took a picture of Marie and me, sitting on the arm of her chair, smiling so brightly. A copy of that photo sits in a silver frame in my office next to a picture of daddy and me at my wedding. I used to say, "Marie you have such soft shoulders!" I especially remember a soft, red sweater she wore trimmed with a fur collar. Throughout the years, we stayed in sporadic touch, but finally caught up as my husband & I traveled to Winchester many weekends when daddy was moved into assisted living near the end of his life. She went to see him several times. When we were in town, she joined my husband and me for dinner, and invited us to her condo for dessert. She always had such a cheerful, genuine smile that made me feel uplifted. She truly loved the Lord with all her heart; his light shone through her. She was an angel on earth. Gary, she loved you and Lillian so much, always telling me not only of your achievements but also of how wonderful, generous, and loving you were. She sent me pictures of Michael and Lauren, her precious grandchildren. I can't tell you how sad and bereft I feel, knowing I will never be able to talk to her again. A very special lady--who made everyone else feel special--she will be remembered by everyone whose life she touched.

Dear Gary and family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. I just read the paper, and missed the funeral, but want you know how very special she was to me and my mother and father( H.K. Cushwa, and Norma), they were very good friends for along time, as Dad worked with your Dad, and they loved to party as well. I will miss her, she was such a kind and loving person.
