Margaret Rusz Dorsey, 63, of Stephens City, VA passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Peggy was born on January 12, 1962, in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Rusz Sr. and Isabel (Fidler) Rusz. She graduated high school from Flint Hill Private School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Bridgewater College. She married Jeffrey S. Dorsey on July 7, 2007, in Middletown, VA. Peggy retired in 2013 from the Prince William County Police Department as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping for special items for her children, granddaughters, and grand-dogs. She was an avid fan of both the Redskins and Capitals. She also loved taking road trips with her husband and had the opportunity to travel to 46 of the 50 states. Above all else, Peggy loved spending time with her family, especially her three granddaughters.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Jeff Dorsey, daughters Heather Bell (Lucas), Jennifer McClanahan and Katie Garrison (Michael); son, Sean “Chris” McClanahan; granddaughters Emma Bell, Sophia Bell and Penelope Bell; brothers Joseph Rusz Jr. (Kindra) and Daniel Rusz (Shannon); sister-in-law Jeannette Shaffer (Kurt) and many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life Service and Reception will be held in the Omps Reception Center, 1600 Amherst St., Winchester on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm with a service at 5pm. Pastor Alan Morrison will be officiating. Interment will be private.
