Margaret Brumback Douglas, 86, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Douglas was born in 1932 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Harman and Fannie Brumback. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1951 and retired from the United States Postal Service after 25+ years of service. Mrs. Douglas was a member of the Frederick County Board of Supervisors, Back Creek Magisterial District, for 8 years. She was also a member of Frederick County Farm Bureau, Frederick County 4-H, volunteered at the American Red Cross, and a participant in a senior citizens bowling league. She was a member of Relief United Methodist Church.
Her husband, James M. Douglas, whom she married on April 13, 1954 preceded her in death in 2017.
Surviving are daughters, Bonnie D. Chumley of Bradenton, Florida and Sallie D. Wilfong (Scott) of Winchester, Virginia; son, James B. Douglas (Dana) of Clear Brook, Virginia; seven grandchildren: Megan Williams (Andrew), James Chumley (Tammy), Erin Peterson (Brad), Chandler Douglas (Taylor), Cameron Whitmoyer (Nathan), Brooke Smith (Wesley), Logan Arnold (Daniel); nine great grandchildren; brother, James I. Brumback of Winchester, Virginia; and sister, Nancy Pence of Winchester, Virginia.
Along with her parents and husband Mrs. Douglas was preceded in death by brothers, Henry and Frank Brumback.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
All are welcome at the Graveside Service at 10 am on Saturday at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
A memorial service will be at 11 am on Saturday at Relief United Methodist Church, 5275 Middle Road, Winchester, Virginia with Pastor Seung Hae Yoo-Hess officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law: James Chumley, Chandler Douglas, Andrew Williams, Daniel Arnold, Bradley Peterson, Nathan Whitmoyer, and Wesley Smith.
