Mae Lillie (Hottle) Campbell
Mae Lillie (Hottle) Campbell, age 83, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Campbell was born in 1934 in Quicksburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Laura Susan Hottle. She was the manager at Jiffy Mart on South Loudoun Street retiring in 1998 after 30 years of service. Mae was called “Maebell” and “MeMe” by an extended family that she loved being with and adored. She loved being with her family and cooking wonderful and very large meals. Mae was a source of love and compassion whose caring nature, warm heart and home were always open to all who needed a hug or her warm and gentle touch.
Mae married John Kenneth Campbell on November 2, 1952 in Clarendon, Virginia and were together for 57 years until “Granddaddy” preceded her in death in 2009.
Mae is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Patricia Lee Campbell and Maria Louise Burdette; sons, John Kenneth Campbell, Jr. and wife Sherrie and Arthur Brian Campbell and wife Heather; grandchildren, Kenneth and wife Sarah, Mark, Stephani, Gina, Zachary, and Riley; great grandchildren, Skylar, Camden, Chase, Caiden, Chloe, and Jade; brother, Thomas Eugene Hottle; brother in laws Wright Campbell and wife Myrtle Ann and Joe Vito and many loving nieces, nephews, and very dear friends, Randy, Jeannie, and Brandie.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mae is preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Ann Campbell; her sisters, Shirley Vito, Betty Virginia Bertschinger, Nancy Marie Orebaugh, and Margaret Elizabeth Hottle; and her brother, William Thomas Hottle.
All services will be private.
