Madeline R. Funk

 

         Madeline Russ McCormick Funk, 88, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, in a local nursing facility.

 

         Mrs. Funk was born in 1926, in Winchester, the daughter of the late Albert and Elsie McCormick.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  Mrs. Funk was a certified nursing assistant with Winchester Medical Center (formerly Winchester Memorial Hospital at Cork Street) serving for over 22 years.

 

         She married Virgil H. Funk Sr. on September 24, 1949, in Hagerstown Maryland.  He preceded her in death on July 2, 2007.

 

         Surviving are her sons, Steve A. Funk and Jimmie E. Funk both of Winchester, Virgil H, Funk, Jr of Largo, Florida, Donald B. Funk and Scott L. Funk both of Winchester; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

         Three sisters, Alice Shaw, Hazel Clowser and Betty Cline and four brothers, Lewis McCormick, Beverly McCormick, Albert McCormick, Jr. and Mervel McCormick, preceded her in death.

 

         A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Shenandoah Memorial Park with Pastor Doug Frazier officiating. 

 

         Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Virginia.
