Luella “Ho” Elizabeth Davis, 90, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Davis was born in 1927 in Romney, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Allen R. and Violet E. Hannas. She attended Hampshire County Schools and was a homemaker in her own home. Mrs. Davis enjoyed square dancing and music, her favorite artists were Neal McCoy, Elvis, and Patsy Cline. Her greatest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild…she would always say ”I just love everybody”. Mrs. Davis was of the Baptist faith.
Her husband, Eugene “Sunfish” Davis, whom she married on April 11, 1946 in Morgantown, West Virginia preceded her in death in 1982.
Surviving is a son, Dennis Davis and wife, Karen; daughter, Barbara A. Davis Middleton; grandchildren, Kerri Lynn Davis, Anthony Middleton and wife, Lacy, Jesse Hawkins and wife, Crystal, Sara Porter and husband, Daniel, and Doug E. Davis; great grandchildren, Branden J. Davis, Anthony (AJ) Middleton, Bella Middleton, Hunter Middleton, Kelsey Hawkins, Keaton Hawkins, Dylan Porter; great-great grandchild, Savannah Yates; sister, Pat Petry; brother, Thomas Hannas and wife, Georgia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a daughter, Violet E. Davis Stewart and a son, Don Dee (Cannonball) Davis; son-in-law, Anthony James Middleton, Sr.; brothers, Jim, Richard (surviving wife, Shelva) and Jerry Hannas; sister, Shirley Hannas Saville; grandchildren, Mark Jason Davis and DJ Davis; brother-in-law, Thomas Petry; brother-in-law, Ted Saville; and sister-in-law, Thelma Hannas.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Donnie Carter officiating. Interment will be private.
