Susan E. Murphy left a message on January 14, 2012:
Loretta was always a very caring, compassionate friend and mentor. She provided invaluable insights as a fellow chaplain and ministered to me when the tables were turned and I was a patient. She came by the Cardiac center just this past December when my mom was having a heart catheterization to offer her comfort and support. She will forever remain in my heart and in my thoughts as an amazing and wonderful woman. My prayers are with her family now as they mourn the loss of such a unique soul.

Dear Loretta was always there when you needed her - or if you just wanted a quick "hello" in the hallway at St. James - with her cheerful smile & "how can I help you" attitude. A really nice lady who will be missed. Fondly, Beth Stucker
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Lucia Hennessy left a message on January 17, 2012:
The Dunn Family, I spoke to Loretta only once it was during the time I was grieving the loss of my mother. My sister, Patti Whittemore , suggested I talk to her. She listened patiently for over an hour while I poured out my heart to her. It was this telephone conversation that helped me get through my period of mourning and for that I will always be grateful. She was a blessing to all the people she came in contact with and now she is in the comforting arms of our Lord. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Lucia Hennessy

Sharon Swanson left a message on January 16, 2012:
Loretta was always a welcome sight for a very shy little girl who always remembered her seemingly ever present smile and very contagious laugh. My memories of her at family functions many years ago have remained very clear because of her smile and laugh. She always seemed so happy. I will always appreciate her calming, caring concern for my Mom just over a year ago when she made sure to come and visit and make sure Mom knew she was praying for her as she was battling cancer. I was so very sorry to hear such a short time later, your family would be going through this time. My thoughts and prayers have been with you all. Sharon Swanson

To the Dunn Family: I wanted to take this time to extend my most deepest condolences. I read about the loss of your mother in the obituary today and I am truly sorry, death is not easy for us as humans to face, and sometimes we may find it a struggle to endure. It's comforting to know that we can always turn to God and his Word the Bible to give us the right words of encouragement at the right time, like the scripture found at Revelation 21:3,4 which in part reads:"And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Your family will be in my prayers, my sincere condolences.

Worked tirelessly at St, James Parish in Falls Church, Va., definitely making it a better place for those who knew her. Her campaign for truth and love was evident.
